JOSEPH’S SISTER is back...💛 For those who re JOSEPH’S SISTER is back...💛

For those who recently started following me here. I’d like to introduce you to Joseph’s Sister, her name is Mia, my oldest daughter. Mia taught herself how to crochet a few weeks after her little brother Joseph passed away suddenly last April, as a way to cope with her grief and everything else going on in the world. Since then Mia has made everything from jumpers, beanies, tops, socks, and of course the first offering from her shop, a variety of pumpkins that travelled all over the world. 💛🙏

Well Mia has been keeping herself busy, this time with the cutest handmade Easter egg decorations. And in collaboration with @greenfieldstitchery aka me, we made sweet pom-pom tailed bunnies to go with them. 🐰🐣

They can be ordered together as a bundle or separately. They are now for sale on Mia’s Etsy shop. The link is on my bio if you would like to support her.💛🌼🐰🐣🌿

My little Luffas germinated and are growing quite My little Luffas germinated and are growing quite happily under the grow lights. 🎉 I didn’t pre sprout these, just potted them up in some pre moistened compost and they came up in around a week. I would start off some more but I think my greenhouse may be crammed to the gunnels come July. I must practice restraint. 😬 #luffalong #luffasponge #luffachallenge2021 #plantroom #indoorseedstarting #growyourown #gyo #somethingnew
Good morning 🌿 One of the questions I was aske Good morning 🌿

One of the questions I was asked during a recent Q&A (saved to highlights) was if I had a list of garden jobs per week/ month to help with planning. I do, and as it’s the beginning of the month I thought I’d share what’s on my list for March. This is based on a UK hardiness zone 7/8, with an approximate last frost date of the second week in May. It’s also based on what seems to work for my garden, but hopefully it’s still helpful in some way! 🌿

•Prune shrub roses
•Divide and plant snowdrops
•Continue to sow hardy annuals and half hardy’s towards the end of the month: eucalyptus, rudbeckia, ranunculus, and stocks are up first
•Pot on chillies and tomatoes. Begin feed with half strength fertiliser towards the middle of month or once the true leaves are well established.
•Weed, cut back and mulch the perennial borders
•Wash and top up bird feeder
•Prep the last of the veg beds with a topping of compost and well rotted manure
•Fleece a veg bed to speed up warmth to sow an early crop of carrots later in the month
•Feed autumn planted garlic. I use a feed from the Garlic Farm but sulphate of potash is also good
•Sow indoors / greenhouse: more tomatoes, aubergines, broad beans, leeks, cauliflower, broccoli, Calabrese, brussels
•Direct sow outdoors under cloches peas, lettuces, more broad beans
•Draw a plan of what will be planted where, with crop rotation in mind
•Prune the privet hedge
•Weed, weed, weed
•Prep a wildflower bed
•Pot up dahlias in the greenhouse towards the end of the month

Not an exhaustive list, but the main chunk of what I’ll be up to. I hope it’s helpful! Anything different on your list? Have a lovely Tuesday. 🌱
